High Temperature Connectors
HTX – Hermetic Seal’s answer to extreme harsh environment mated pair hermetically sealed interconnects for the Military and
Commercial Aerospace markets. Available from Apollo Aerospace Components, via our exclusive European franchise for Ametek Hermetic Seal.

Recent aerospace developments have driven the need for instruments and systems to perform in extreme environments at temperatures not previously specified, especially in commercial jet engine applications.

Hermetic Seal Corporation, a unit of Ametek Interconnect Technologies and a leader in hermetically sealed connectors for extreme environments, has developed interconnection technology that meets the increasingly stringent temperature range and leak rates required for even the most highly demanding aerospace applications.

The HTX high-temperature connector not only performs from -65°C to 440°C (-85°F to 824°F) it maintains its hermetic integrity at an unparalleled 1×10-9 cc/sec of Helium at 15 PSI leak rate and an insulation resistance value greater than 500 megaohms@500 VDC. At 426°C (800°F), the HTX connector has an insulation resistance value greater than 1,000 megaohms@500 VDC.

High Temperature Connectors Datasheet

The current generation of hermetically sealed electrical connectors used by the aerospace industry operate reliably in the –65°C to 260°C (-85°F to 500°F) temperature range with a leak rate of 1×10-7 and an insulation resistance value of 1,000 megaohms at 500 VDC. However, when subjected to higher temperatures not only does the likelihood of a hermetic seal failure increase but the resistance value of the glass insulator also declines.

These factors result in significantly limiting the functionality of many instruments and motion control devices in high-temperature environments.

The HTX high-temperature connector utilizes a proprietary glass insulation material that was developed by Hermetic Seal Corporation. This technology enables full electrical functionality in the hermetic receptacle welded to a high-temperature instrument or device as well as the cable terminated plug with which it mates.

In addition, the HTX connector series is available in shells and insert arrangements that meet the dimensional requirements of several MIL specifications.
