Agata’s amazing story
We would like to share an amazing story.
In June 2023 Agata Falkowska from Apollo Electrical Southampton, life’s changed completely when she was diagnosed with chronic end-stage renal failure.
As a mum of two, the news was devastating – not just for Agata, but for her whole family.
Kidney failure is not something you ever expect, and facing it while trying to be there for her children was one of the hardest things Agata have ever had to do.
For ten months, Agata underwent dialysis treatment to keep her alive while her own kidneys could no longer do their job.
It was gruelling, exhausting, and all-consuming — but Agata held onto hope every single day.
That hope became real in September 2024, when her husband made the most selfless and courageous decision a person can make.
He donated his kidney. Without hesitation, he gave a part of himself so that Agata could be here — fully present — for her children and their family.
It is a gift Agata can never fully put into words.
Their journey has shown first-hand just how devastating kidney disease can be, and how urgently more research and funding is needed.
Which is why Agata is fundraising for kidney research by joining in the London Bridges Walk in 4th July – so that other families facing this illness have better treatments, more options, and real hope for the future.
Please consider supporting this cause and helping us give back after everything we have been through.
